Measure the motorcycle as it will be transported
Start with its length, width and weight, including fitted luggage if it will remain on the machine. Length alone does not describe the job. Handlebar width, supporting points and access around the motorcycle also matter. If you intend to carry several motorcycles, check their combined arrangement against the trailer's actual equipment rather than relying on a photograph.
Two examples from the Witmar catalogue
The TEMARED MOTO 2 PREMIUM with plywood floor is listed with a 2300 × 1550 mm loading area, 175 kg unladen weight and 575 kg payload at a GVW of 750 kg. The Brenderup MC750 Moto 2 is listed at 2070 × 1130 mm, 132 kg unladen weight and 618 kg payload, also with a GVW of 750 kg. A larger loading area does not necessarily mean more payload.
A number in a model name does not prove that your particular pair of motorcycles will fit. Check actual machine dimensions and confirm the supplied arrangement.
Count the complete load
Include every item you plan to transport, such as luggage, spare parts and accessories. Ask whether the listed unladen weight includes the equipment fitted to the particular trailer. Models with the same GVW can have different payloads, so use each product's own specification.
Inspect loading and securing equipment
Confirm ramp length and rating, the wheel support arrangement, and the number and location of securing points. Ask for photographs of these details. Securing methods and accessories should follow the instructions for the motorcycle, trailer and equipment. This buying guide does not replace operating instructions.
Choose for your actual usage
Frequent trips make access, loading convenience and storage particularly relevant. For occasional transport, identify the essential features before paying for extras. Browse more motorcycle and quad trailers or compare the car transporter range if you need a different platform. Before ordering, confirm the towing combination and the exact equipment supplied.
