Before choosing a trailer, check the towing vehicle data: maximum braked trailer mass, maximum unbraked trailer mass, vehicle GVW and allowed set weight.
Trailer GVW and set GVW
Trailer GVW is the maximum trailer weight with load. Set GVW is the allowed combination of car and trailer. Legal values in documents matter.
Licence requirements
Required licence depends on the documented weights. In some cases category B is enough; heavier sets may require additional entitlement.
